Function-Based Design Principles for Additive Manufacturing

The development of additive manufacturing (AM) technologies has brought new design possibilities, and to utilise those sources AM knowledge are needed. This paper presents an inductive methodology for extracting based on the functional analysis products. Extracted is formalised in 32 principles using proposed methodology. organised regarding functions they solve. Initial validation intended use described through a case study. can facilitate systematic processes methods, be used early phases finding partial solutions subfunctions problem.
